“Mr. Soul!" coming to the stage at the Multi-cultural Use Community Center ("MuCCC"), 142 Atlantic Avenue, Rochester on August 24 and 25, 2023, show starts at 7:30 both nights.

"Mr. Soul! will be  part of the 14th Annual Sankofa Theatre Festival, which runs from August 22-26.  In addition to my play, there will be two other plays on stage on different days that week.  SEE POSTERS BELOW.

"Mr. Soul!" is based on a Black TV show called, "SOUL!" that ran on PBS from 1968-1973 and was hosted by an outspoken gay Black man named Ellis Haizlip, who fought to keep the show on the air despite roadblocks and constant threats of cancellation.   Set in 1973, "MR. SOUL!" provides a fictionalized account of the final days of the show.
